Situated in the tiny, unspoilt hamlet of Lagarrigue,  our two cottages overlook the beautiful scenery of a little known and very quiet part of the Lot Valley offering numerous opportunities for walking, sightseeing and sports, together with many places of interest within this lovely region.   The River Lot is famous for canoeing and fishing.

Perched approximately 450 metres above the River Lot, the cottages have extensive views along and down the Valley and are surrounded by hills clad in cherry, oak and chestnut, the latter giving the whole area the title of ‘La Chataigneraie’’.

The wooded nature and terrain of the valley mean that the varied hues of spring are tinged with white cherry blossom and the autumn colours are spectacular.

The owners, who have had a house in the area for many years and recently made it their permanent home,  bought these cottages as near ruins and have lovingly and expertly restored them to a very high standard. The cottages are built of stone under traditional lauze roofs and offer superb all year round accommodation for up to eight people.

There are many wonderful restaurants offering choices from the typically French menu du jour to haute cuisine.  The local Marcillac and Entraygues wines are highly recommended and the locally-produced goats’ cheese recently won prestigious awards.

Lagarrigue is in an ideal location, just one hour’s drive from Rodez airport to which Ryanair flies daily or three hours from Toulouse via Easyjet, British Airways or Flybe.
